When you sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Render, you can build fully HIPAA-compliant applications on Render's infrastructure. Our compliance includes:

Encryption of PHI data both at rest and in transit

Network isolation and security controls

Disaster recovery and backup procedures

Access controls and authentication safeguards

As with all cloud providers, HIPAA compliance follows a shared responsibility model where Render secures the infrastructure, while customers are responsible for application-level compliance and appropriate use of our platform's security features.

HIPAA compliance is available on Organization and Enterprise plans as a paid add-on. The add-on is $250/month, or if your compute spend is over $1,250/month, it costs 20% of your compute spend.
